Yes. Turnitin is language-agnostic for similarity: it compares text, not meaning, so a tesis, kertas projek or tugasan in Bahasa Melayu is matched against Malay web pages, journals, and — most importantly — every Malay-language paper other students have submitted through UiTM, UKM, UM, UPM, USM, UTM, IPG and the rest. Those "Submitted to Universiti…" sources are where most BM matches come from, and they exist only inside Turnitin.

📈 Why BM documents often score higher than expected
- Standard front matter — borang pengakuan, penghargaan, abstrak template, senarai kandungan — matches thousands of theses word for word. Lecturers usually ignore it; the raw score still counts it.
- Petikan nas — Quran and hadith quotations in Pengajian Islam, Syariah and Pendidikan Islam work are matched exactly. Correct citation is the answer, not rewriting.
- Definisi and teori quoted from the same textbooks (Kemmis & McTaggart, Bloom, Vygotsky in IPG and UPSI work) appear in every cohort's assignment.
