🎓 Why Indian students use TurnitinMy
India is one of the countries where students search for Turnitin most, and the reason is always the same: your university has Turnitin, but you only get to see the score after you submit. A pre-check lets you fix citation problems first. Being based in Malaysia, we are in nearly the same time zone as India (IST (UTC+5:30)), so a report ordered tonight is back tonight.
📏 Similarity limits at universities in India
The UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity) Regulations 2018 treat up to 10% similarity as Level 0 (no penalty) for theses and dissertations, with escalating penalties above that. Most universities therefore ask for a report under 10%.
Commonly checked by students at: University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, IIT Bombay, Anna University, University of Mumbai. Always confirm the exact limit with your supervisor or department handbook — this page describes what students typically report.

What similarity score do universities in India accept?
The UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity) Regulations 2018 treat up to 10% similarity as Level 0 (no penalty) for theses and dissertations, with escalating penalties above that. Most universities therefore ask for a report under 10%.
Is the report the real Turnitin report?
Yes — the original Turnitin PDF: overall similarity percentage, source list and colour-highlighted text, the same report your lecturer sees. We run it in No Repository mode, so your file is not stored and will not match against itself when your university checks it later.
