🎓 Why Canadian students use TurnitinMy
Universities in Canada run every major submission through Turnitin, but most only let you see the report after the deadline — or not at all. Canadian students use TurnitinMy to check a draft first, fix citation problems, and submit knowing the score. The service is automated, so it runs around the clock regardless of the time difference (ET/PT (UTC-5 to UTC-8)).
📏 Similarity limits at universities in Canada
Canadian universities use Turnitin (and Ouriginal) as evidence rather than a rule; most course syllabi suggest keeping similarity under 15%–20% after excluding references.
Commonly checked by students at: University of Toronto, UBC, McGill University, University of Waterloo, University of Alberta. Always confirm the exact limit with your supervisor or department handbook — this page describes what students typically report.
